Reach Out 30: A 30-Day Challenge to Meet People and Deepen Friendships
Reach Out 30 is a 30-day challenge to build your social life on purpose. Every day you say hi to one new person, in person or online, and each week you reach out for a deeper connection like a call, coffee or voice memo. It is a built-in GLIN template you can do with a friend.

What you track in GLIN
The Reach Out 30 template sets this up for you. Edit anything before you start.
| Action | Points | Group |
|---|---|---|
| Say hi to 1 new person today (in person or online) | 1 | Daily Hi |
| Reach out for a meaningful connection (call, coffee, voice memo) | 3 | Weekly Deep |
Daily target: 1 point per day. Invite a friend, set your stakes, and you’re in.
Why this works
Friendships rarely fade from conflict; they fade from nobody reaching out. And new connections don’t happen unless you start conversations. Reach Out 30 makes both a habit for a month: small daily hellos to stretch the muscle, and a weekly deeper reach-out to look after the people who matter.
How to do Reach Out 30 in GLIN
- In GLIN, open Explore and tap Reach Out 30. Two actions: “Say hi to 1 new person today” (1 point) and “Reach out for a meaningful connection” (3 points), with a target of 1 point a day.
- Invite a friend. Bonus: you can count them as one of your weekly deep connections.
- Set your stakes and start.
Tips
- Use your routine. The barista, the person on the next machine at the gym, a coworker from another team.
- Send the voice memo. It takes 60 seconds and lands far better than a text.
- Keep a short list of people you’ve lost touch with. When the weekly reach-out comes up, you won’t have to think.

Frequently asked questions
What counts as saying hi to a new person?
Any genuine first interaction: introducing yourself to a neighbor, chatting with someone at the gym, replying thoughtfully to someone new online. The bar is low on purpose so you can do it every day.
What is a meaningful connection?
Reaching out to someone you already know for real time together: a phone call, a coffee, a walk or a voice memo that is more than "hey". It is worth 3 points in GLIN.
How many points do I need each day?
One. The daily hello covers it. The weekly deep connection is worth 3 points and counts toward that day, so you can also hit the target on days you only do a deeper reach-out.
